This research examines the theoretical framework of privatization, studying its concept, causes, objectives, methods, components, challenges, and impacts. It then explores the privatization experience in Saudi Arabia.
The study presents an applied analysis in which the researcher reviews the reasons for privatization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the preparation processes for it, the foundations of strategy development, its objectives, and the administrative and implementation arrangements. It also covers the strategic approaches and methods of privatization in the Kingdom, the fundamental principles considered during implementation, the key steps of the privatization process for a project or public institution, and the main issues addressed during the privatization phases.
The research concludes by examining the impact of privatization on the Saudi economy, focusing on its effects on measurable economic variables. It tests the significance of privatization’s impact on these variables using a statistical method, highlighting the extent (e.g., moderate change in averages and employment) and nature (positive or negative) of the effect on each variable.
The research consists of three main chapters, outlined as follows:
•Chapter One: Discusses the basic concepts, causes, methods, objectives, components, challenges, and impacts of privatization.
•Chapter Two: Examines the privatization experience in Saudi Arabia.
•Chapter Three: Studies the impact of privatization on the Saudi economy.
